Terms & Policies

 

CANCELLATION POLICY:

Any cancellation or amendment request must be sent to us in writing, by email, and will take effect at the time we receive it. Please ensure that you have received written confirmation of any changes to your booking prior to travel. 

We will inform you as soon as reasonably possible if we need to make a significant change to your confirmed Travel Arrangements or to cancel them. We may have to cancel a trip before or at the registration deadline because there is an insufficient number of bookings (minimum of 5 people). In this case, you will be fully reimbursed any amounts already paid

If you cancel your participation after the registration deadline, the following costs apply:

Up to 31 days before the start of the trip: 30% of the full cost
16–30 days before the start of the trip: 50%
4–16 days before the start of the trip: 80%
<4 days before the start of the trip: 100%

Programme

The programme, itinerary and cost are as described on the corresponding webpage or in the corresponding flyer. Unless specified, the costs of flights, insurance, and alcohol are not included.

For all multi-day tours, a minimum number of participants is specified. I will confirm the tour in writing to you if the minimum number of registrations has been reached by the stated registration deadline.

For reasons of safety (including risks due to unexpected problems on the route, bad weather or participants’ capabilities) we reserve the right to modify the programme. Claims for damages because of a programme change are excluded.

 

Insurance:

You are required to take out travel insurance as a condition of booking. Your policy of insurance should cover you and your party against the cost of cancellation by you; the cost of assistance (including repatriation) in the event of accident or illness; loss of baggage and money; and other expenses, as well as ensuring you have cover for any activities you have booked, including additional cover for skiing/extreme sports/adventure travel and all other activities you have booked.

If you choose to travel without adequate insurance cover, neither we nor the Supplier/Principal will be liable for any losses howsoever arising, in respect of which insurance cover would otherwise have been available.

 

MEDICAL CONCERNS:

For all trips, good health, a fitness level matched to the planned programme, and appropriate equipment are required. It is your responsibility to inform us of any possible risks of a medical nature that concern you. If these conditions are not met, we reserve the right to exclude you from the trip.

Your security is our priority. However, I cannot guarantee absolute safety given the natural risks inherent in moving in nature which are always present despite careful planning and guiding. When you reserve your trip, you explicitly recognize and accept these risks.

 

Special Requests

Any special requests must be advised to us at the time of booking e.g. diet, room location, a particular facility at a hotel etc. You should then confirm your requests in writing. We will then do our best to meet your request but we cannot guarantee that they will be fulfilled.

 

Force Majeure

Except where otherwise expressly stated in these Booking Conditions we will not be liable or pay you compensation if our contractual obligations to you are affected by “Force Majeure”. For the purposes of these Booking Conditions, Force Majeure means any event beyond our control, the consequences of which could not have been avoided even if all reasonable measures had been taken. Examples include warfare and acts of terrorism (and threat thereof), civil strife, significant risks to human health such as the outbreak of serious disease at the travel destination or natural disasters such as floods, earthquakes or weather conditions which make it impossible to travel safely to the travel destination or remain at the travel destination, the act of any government or other national or local authority including port or river authorities, industrial dispute, labour strikes, lock closure, natural or nuclear disaster, fire, chemical or biological disaster, unavoidable technical problems with transport and all similar events outside our control. 

Brexit Implications: please note that certain Travel Arrangements may be affected as a result of the United Kingdom’s decision to leave the European Union. This could include an unavailability of certain flight routes, access to certain ports and airports and changes to the visa requirements of British citizens travelling to, within or through the EU. Please rest assured that this is something we will continue to monitor and will advise our customers as soon as possible if we become aware of any confirmed bookings that will be affected. However, since this is something which is completely unprecedented and outside our control, we would treat any such changes as Force Majeure, and whilst we will endeavour to provide suitable alternative arrangements or refunds where possible, we will not be liable to pay you any compensation.

 

Law and Jurisdiction

These Booking Conditions are governed by English law and we both agree that the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute, claim or other matter which may arise between us (unless you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, in which case you can bring proceedings in your local court under Scottish or Northern Irish law, as applicable)
