Trip Overview

Leave the roads behind and discover Finland’s southern coastline from the water.

Over six days, we’ll paddle through a maze of forested islands, sheltered bays and rocky skerries, covering approximately 10–20km each day. Some islands are completely wild, while others are home to colourful cabins, quiet fishing communities and traditional Finnish saunas.

Each evening, we’ll pull our kayaks ashore on a new island, pitch our tents beside the sea and cook a hearty meal together over the fire. There will be time to swim, explore the shoreline, watch the sunset and enjoy the deep sense of calm that comes from living outdoors.

With no tides and thousands of islands providing sheltered routes, the Finnish Archipelago is a brilliant place to experience your first multi-day kayak journey. No previous sea-kayaking experience is required—just a reasonable level of fitness, a willingness to learn and a love of being outdoors.

Travelling to Helsinki

We're always happy to help you plan your journey to our hotel in Helsinki.

Wild camping

For five nights, we’ll camp on different islands throughout the archipelago. You’ll sleep in a shared tent, usually with one other guest, in camps chosen for their natural beauty and suitability. Some islands have established camping areas with fire pits and simple composting toilets, while others feel completely wild.

There are no showers or conventional bathrooms while we are kayaking. We’ll wash and swim in the sea where conditions allow, and some islands may give us access to a traditional Finnish sauna.

Everyone helps with the everyday jobs of expedition life, including unloading the kayaks, pitching tents, collecting water and preparing meals.

Before and after the paddling journey, you’ll spend two nights in comfortable waterside hotel with breakfast included.
