Trip Overview

Lake Saimaa is a vast maze of clear water, pine-covered islands and quiet hidden channels - the perfect place to slow down and explore by kayak.

Over the course of the week, we’ll paddle from island to island carrying everything we need with us. Each evening, we’ll find a remote place to camp, pitch our tents and cook a proper meal together over the fire as the summer light lingers long into the night.

Just water, wilderness, good food and the simple rhythm of travelling under our own steam.

Travelling to Helsinki

We're always happy to help you plan your journey to our hotel in Helsinki.

Accommodation

The first and final nights are spent in a lake-side hotel accommodation, giving us time to prepare before the expedition and relax properly once we return.

During the journey, we’ll wild camp for five nights on remote islands around Lake Saimaa. Camps are simple and beautiful, with tents pitched close to the water and meals cooked together over the fire.

There are no showers or electricity while we’re out - but there will be quiet mornings, lakeside swims and the kind of views you never get from a hotel room.
