Best for: Perfect for hikers who want big mountain days paired with real comfort — Chamonix's best trails and Mont Blanc views, with a luxury chalet, sauna and hot tub waiting at the end of each day.

Spend a week soaking up the jaw-dropping beauty of the French Alps with our Peaks & Trails adventure, right in the heart of Chamonix Mont Blanc valley. We’ll be based in a cosy, stylish chalet which will be your home-from-home for the week surrounded by some of the tallest, most dramatic peaks in Europe. Not a bad view to wake up to every morning.

Each day we’ll head out on guided hikes (around 8–15km) to explore Chamonix’s best bits. Think turquoise Alpine lakes, wildflower meadows, and the kind of glaciers that make you stop in your tracks. One of the big moments of the week? Riding the famous Aiguille du Midi cable car all the way up to 3,800m for a seriously “wow” view over Mont Blanc and the endless sea of peaks around it.

A person with brown hair tied back, wearing a cap, sitting on rocky terrain and looking at snow-capped mountain peaks in the distance.
Group of hikers celebrating outdoors in front of snowy mountain peaks with trees and clear sky.
A woman wearing a wide-brimmed hat, sunglasses, and a white shirt hiking in a rocky mountainous area with another hiker in the background.

Why you’ll love this trip

Chamonix's best trails, hand-picked

We've built each day around the finest hiking in the valley — turquoise alpine lakes, wildflower meadows and glacier views.

A cable car to 3,800m
Ride the Aiguille du Midi gondola to 3,800m and step out among some of the biggest glaciers in the Alps — the Glacier des Bossons, the Mer de Glace and the icefalls beneath Mont Blanc itself.

Come home to a beautiful alpine chalet
Each evening we return to the same cosy chalet with a sauna and a hot tub — rather than moving hut to hut, so you can properly recover between big days.

Incredible Mont Blanc views
From valley trails to the summit of the Aiguille du Midi, Mont Blanc's glaciers and peaks stay with you throughout the week.

Big days, good spirits
Expect 8–15km of trail and up to 1,000m of climbing each day — proper mountain miles that leave you buzzing, not broken. A good level of hiking fitness is all you need to enjoy every step.

Small-group adventure
Travel with an experienced guide and a supportive group of like-minded hikers. Many guests join us on their own, so you won’t be the only solo traveller.

Who is this trip for?

This trip is for hikers who want big mountain days around Chamonix and Mont Blanc, with a comfortable chalet base to return to each evening.

You should have a good level of hiking fitness and be comfortable walking for between four and six hours on consecutive days, covering 8–15km with up to 1,000m of elevation gain. The routes include steady ascents, rocky alpine paths and some high, exposed ground.

Previous hiking experience is helpful but not essential. You do not need technical climbing experience, but you should be comfortable on uneven alpine terrain and prepared for changing mountain weather.

This trip will particularly suit you if you:

  • Enjoy a full day out on the trail

  • Like the idea of a fixed base rather than moving accommodation each night

  • Want big mountain days balanced with real comfort in the evenings

  • Are happy carrying a day pack rather than full trekking kit

  • Enjoy a good physical day without needing an extreme challenge

  • Want to experience Chamonix's best trails as part of a supportive small group
