A quieter way to experience Lapland

Kiilopää Lodge is our home in the Finnish wilderness: a spacious and welcoming log cabin tucked among the trees at the entrance to Urho Kekkonen National Park.

Spend your days skiing, hiking or exploring the fells, then return to light the fire, warm up in your private sauna and watch the forest through the cabin’s large windows.

The cabin sleeps up to six people and is equally suited to couples, families or a small group of friends looking for an independent Lapland escape.

Location

Wilderness on your doorstep

The cabin sits beside Urho Kekkonen National Park, with access to hiking, cycling, snowshoeing and cross-country skiing directly from the surrounding forest.

Kiilopää Fell Centre is nearby and has restaurants, a small shop, equipment rental and a traditional smoke sauna. Saariselkä is approximately 14 kilometres away, with a larger supermarket, shops, restaurants and downhill skiing.

Getting here

By air

Ivalo Airport is the nearest airport. The journey to the cabin takes approximately 30 minutes.

Without a car

A bus stop is around five minutes from the cabin, so it is possible to stay without hiring a vehicle.

By train

You can take the overnight train from Helsinki towards northern Finland and continue to Kiilopää by bus.

I would add the exact bus-stop name and a link to transfer guidance after somebody books.
