An epic Arctic adventure

Join us for an unforgettable week in one of Finland’s largest national parks - a fully immersive Arctic experience combining raw nature, remote exploration, and exceptional wilderness dining.

This is no ordinary winter trek. You’ll ski through pristine forests and over snow-covered fells, travelling 8–16 kilometres each day as we journey deep into the wilds of Lapland. We’ll camp beneath the stars, sleeping in open shelters or remote wilderness cabins, carrying everything we need to live and thrive in the Arctic.

And at the heart of it all? Food.

In a landscape defined by extremes, you’ll be joined by private wilderness chef, Will Hamer, from The Wilder Kitchen, who will prepare nourishing, locally inspired meals over open fires right in the heart of the snow-covered wilderness. Using traditional ingredients,, each meal becomes a moment: a celebration of flavour, fire and community.

This is more than a winter expedition. It’s a rare chance to experience outdoor cooking at its most elemental. Whether it’s a smoky fireside lunch next to a frozen river or a hearty supper under the northern lights, you’ll taste the Arctic in every bite.

If you’ve ever dreamed of a wild, physically demanding adventure balanced with beautiful food and quiet, reflective moments by the fire - this is the trip for you.

Trip Dates

4- 11th February (5 spaces left)

Accommodation

During the trip, we spend the first and final night in our basecamp cabin in Kiilopää, and the rest of the week we are sleeping in open shelters, wilderness cabins and camping in expedition tents. The wilderness huts are basic, they have no electricity and include bunks for sleeping in and an outdoor dry toilet.

Please note that since this is a remote wilderness tour, some changes to the itinerary are possible due to weather, location and reasons out of our control.

Ready for an adventure?

This is the perfect week-long backcountry escape for skiers seeking a new challenge with a touch of luxury, thanks to your own private chef, and a totally unique experience far from the crowds. You’ll need to be in good health and possess a strong level of fitness, as we’ll ski 8–16 km a day, pulling heavy sleds and tackling a few hills along the way. Previous camping experience and a proactive attitude in a group setting are essential.

If you're after a true wilderness experience or keen to try ski touring without venturing into steep or technical terrain, the Finnish Arctic offers the ideal balance of remoteness, beauty and accessibility.

Reviews

Don’t just take our word for it, here is what the lovely folk that have joined us thought about our trips.

A Trip to Remember! Just got back from an unforgettable week in Lapland and I can honestly say: I would follow Chris and Will Harmer into the wild anytime.

Imagine exploring through snow-covered forests all day, then arriving at the campfire to the smell of something *unreal* sizzling over an open fire. That’s the rhythm of this trip – fresh tracks by day, next-level meals by night. Will isn’t just a wilderness chef – he’s a legit magician with fire.

The skiing was beautiful and peaceful – remote, untouched, and exactly what I needed to unplug. But the food? The food made the experience. This isn’t your average trip. It’s part expedition and part travelling restaurant with the best view ever!

WHAT SHOULD MY SKIING ABILITY BE?

If you have some previous experience of downhill or cross-country skiing but are yet to discover the adventure and challenge of a ski touring expedition then this will be perfect for you. HOW FIT DO I HAVE TO BE?

You need to have a good level of fitness and be used to moving for 5-6 hours a day (so its ideal for for hikers who want to challenge themselves in the Arctic conditions) You will take turns pulling a sled weighing 30kg and skiing from 5-16km a day. Some days are more challenging than others.
