Trip Overview

The Kungsleden, or King's Trail, is one of the world's most iconic long-distance hikes, and for good reason. Stretching through the remote landscapes of Arctic Sweden, it offers spectacular mountain scenery, traditional mountain huts and an incredible sense of wilderness.

Over 8 days, we'll hike one of the most beautiful sections of the trail, crossing mountain passes, following crystal-clear rivers and spending our evenings in remote mountain huts. This is Scandinavia at its wildest and most beautiful.

Trip Deposit

Secure your place on a trip with a £300 deposit. The full amount will then be due 90 days prior to the trip's departure.

What to expect…

Day one / arrival day

Make your way to our accommodation in Abisko, where we’ll meet at 5pm. You’ll get to know your guide and fellow hikers, chat through the route and weather forecast, and make final preparations for the journey ahead.

Day five / last day

We'll enjoy one final day on the trail before celebrating everything we've achieved together and reflecting on an unforgettable week in the Arctic wilderness.

Day two-seven / hike

Over the next six days, we'll journey through some of the most spectacular landscapes in Arctic Sweden. Expect dramatic mountain scenery, crystal-clear rivers, suspension bridges and endless open wilderness as we hike from hut to hut along the iconic Kungsleden.

Each day will bring something new, from crossing mountain passes and spotting reindeer to enjoying fika breaks in the sunshine. Evenings are spent cooking together, sharing stories from the trail and settling into our cosy mountain huts for the night.

Day eight / departure

After breakfast, we will take the bus back from Nikkaluokta to Kiruna and everyone will head off for their onwards travel.

We're always happy to help you plan your journey to our starting point in Abisko and our finish in Nikkaluokta.

Accommodation

We'll spend the week staying in traditional Swedish mountain huts nestled along the trail. Accommodation is simple and shared, but that's all part of the magic of the Kungsleden. Think cosy bunk rooms, spectacular mountain views and evenings spent swapping stories with your fellow hikers after a day on the trail.

We'll send you a detailed packing list as part of your booking documentation, including clothing recommendations and everything you'll need for a comfortable week trekking in the Arctic.
