Journey from the Chamonix Valley to Courmayeur on a carefully designed route linking together some of the most memorable sections of the iconic Tour du Mont Blanc.
Over seven days of hiking, we’ll cross high mountain passes, follow spectacular balcony trails and spend our nights in welcoming mountain refuges. The route takes us past Lac Blanc, over the Col du Tricot, through the wild landscapes of the Col du Bonhomme and across the border into Italy via the Col de la Seigne.
We’ll continue through Val Veny before finishing among the glaciers and towering peaks of the Italian Val Ferret.
This isn’t about completing every kilometre of the traditional circuit. It’s about experiencing its finest trails, most beautiful refuges and most impressive mountain scenery in one unforgettable week.

What to expect…
Day one / arrival day
Meet the group at our accommodation in the Chamonix valley. After settling into the auberge, we’ll have a trip briefing, complete a final kit check and enjoy our first dinner together.
Day seven / Courmayeur
Our final hiking day is through the beautiful Val Ferret. We'll soak up our final views of the Mont Blanc massif before celebrating the end of our adventure together over lunch. We'll then return to Courmayeur for our final evening together.
Day two-eight / hike days
Over 7 unforgettable hiking days, we'll journey from the Chamonix Valley to Courmayeur, linking together the most spectacular sections of the Tour du Mont Blanc. We'll climb through the Aiguilles Rouges to the iconic Lac Blanc, follow panoramic balcony trails above Chamonix, cross beneath the Bionnassay Glacier and traverse the beautiful Col du Tricot. From there, we'll tackle the high mountain passes of the Col du Bonhomme and Croix du Bonhomme before crossing into Italy via the breathtaking Col de la Seigne. Our final days take us through the glacier-filled landscapes of Val Veny and along the world-famous Mont de la Saxe balcony trail to Val Ferret, where we'll finish our adventure surrounded by some of the finest mountain scenery in the Alps.

Who is this trip for?
This trip is for hikers who want to experience the iconic highlights of the Tour du Mont Blanc without committing to the full circuit.
You should have a good level of hiking fitness and be comfortable walking for between five and eight hours on consecutive days. The route includes steep ascents, long descents, rocky mountain paths and several high passes.
Previous multi-day hiking experience is recommended. You do not need technical climbing experience, but you should be comfortable on uneven alpine terrain and prepared for changing mountain weather.

You should have a good level of fitness and feel comfortable hiking uphill for 2-3 hours at a time. Daily hikes range from 10-18 km with up to 1,300 m of ascent and descent, so you should be happy spending full days out on the trails.
Previous experience is strongly recommended. You should already be comfortable completing full mountain days and walking on consecutive days.

Absolutely. Most of our guests join our trips solo and quickly become part of the group. Our small-group adventures are a brilliant way to meet like-minded people.

Most refuge accommodation will be in shared dormitories or small shared rooms. The final hotel night in Courmayeur will be in twin or triple rooms.

Most people’s backpacks will weigh approximately 7–10 kg, depending on how lightly they pack and how much water they carry. You’ll need to carry your clothing, toiletries, sleeping-bag liner, water, packed lunch and personal items.

Most common dietary requirements can be catered for with advance notice. However, remote refuges have limited kitchens and cannot always guarantee the same choice available in hotels or restaurants.

The trip begins at our accommodation in Argentière in the Chamonix Valley. and ends in Courmayeur, Italy. Both are easy to get to from Geneva airport (1.5hr) or Milan airport.

Courmayeur has regular bus connections through the Mont Blanc Tunnel to Chamonix, as well as onward connections towards Geneva Airport. Detailed travel guidance will be provided before departure.
